Lambda Koshe Slade 24a (Aglaonike)

There's a rattle and hiss as the phasedrive drops you back into normal space at the edge of a wide debris field. Quick scans reveal metallic signatures amongst the rocks, but the readings are more consistent with nickle/iron meteoroids than they are with ships, abandoned or otherwise. In fact the only thing that seems to be lurking in the shadows between some of the larger chunks are a trio of signal buoys. They're old, maybe fifty or sixty years old, and they're all broadcasting ownership credentials that claim the mineral rights to the field are owned by the Han-Sun Extra-Stellar Mining Conglomerate. A quick check in the database confirms the claim. The HSESMC hasn't mined in the field at Lambda Koshe Slade 24a in almost thirty years, but they still maintain ownership of it. Even scraping one of the rocks for fuel without company authorization would carry hefty fines.

There's nothing else here of much interest. Just dust, dirty ice. No planets in range, and the closest star is over a lightyear distant. Like a tiny, angry red eye, it stares back at you, gives you a strange, uncomfortable feeling. You don't linger. No reason to. Thoughts trigger equipment, spin up the phasedrive, and then you're gone, on to the next point of interest.
